Having trouble understanding what the globally harmonized system (GHS) means to your company? It is best to get some help. We like to call them partners as they will guide you throughout this process. 

GHS consulting or consultants will take their time to get to know your business and provide your organization with interpretation, compliance, and guidance.  This is a process and GHS doesn't happen overnight.  If you look at the EU CLP which is Europe's adoption of GHS it took many years to launch and the transition periods could be all the way until 2013 or 2018.  If OSHA and the EPA with USA decide to adopt the globally harmonized system then they too will have long transition periods to comply. 

GHS consultants would need to learn about your products in order to do a proper assessment of the risks associated to current or future product shipments. GHS could be perceived as a threat to your current operations but the intentions of the UN.  The overall UN GHS plan was to promote sustainability on a global level, in particular through the intended improvement in human health and environmental protection, through higher economic effeciency as a result of increased global trade & competition.
